Welding Procedure Specifications are recipe’s that produce sound welds and consistent weld quality across different projects and production parts. WPS’s define the parameters, variables, and controls for production welding. The final documentation is produced in a research and development phase known as a Procedure Qualification Record, or PQR. These are normal and necessary for welding in almost every industry that needs cladding services.
Welding procedures for cladding are the bedrock of our production work. If you have a cladding project with unique materials, we can develop a WPS that meets your exacting requirements. If you require the WPS to be qualified on production material to derisk your project, that’s readily doable as well. We develop new procedures for nickel alloys, cobalt alloys, steels and stainless steels regularly to specific customer expectations. All of these are welded with GTAW Hotwire.
Welding procedures for buttering are novel and unique in the fabrication world. We have several years of experience welding butters, but they are customer specific. In addition, butters are revalidated on a per-heat basis. If you have a project that requires buttering to be successful, please do not hesitate to contact us with your specific needs and goals. We provide services for both low alloy steel and nickel alloy butters. All of these are welded with GTAW Hotwire.
Welding procedures for closure welding are fundamental to any fab shop, and ours is no exception. These overlap with general welding, and both are practically synonymous in a cladding shop like ours. As we expand our production capacity, we are developing new procedures that allow us to weld in new positions and material combinations. Most of these are either GTAW, FCAW or a combination of both.
