Superior Cladding was started in 2012 with only 1 machine. After hiring dedicated staff to run the company in 2014, SCP grew rapidly and expanded to 23 robotic welders made by ARC Specialties. Ten years later, SCP is one of the largest weld overlay providers in North America that is independently owned.
In the early days, Superior Cladding focused on mastering the art of welding and overlay technology. The turning point came in 2014 with the arrival of a dedicated team, setting the stage for rapid growth and expansion. By harnessing the power of 23 robotic welders from ARC Specialties, we redefined the standards of weld overlay technology. This strategic move not only expanded our capabilities but also solidified our position in the industry.
Within our 21,000 sq foot facility in Houston, TX, we weld overlays exclusively with twenty-three robotic welders made by ARC Specialties. This semi-automated, ARC-05 and Tri-pulse cladding technology is the backbone of our business model. For general welding, we use flux cored (FCAW) and tig welding processes (GTAW) to meet customer’s strict criteria, including phased array ultrasonic NDE (PAUT).

Most parts we weld are for Sour and other Severe Services, including H2S, C02, Alkaline, Fatigue, 800F fluid processing and synthetic fuel production.
